hello!

I am Bhawana Singh Parihar, the face behind Bhakoshaa.

I am a Fine Artist, a Jewelry Designer, an Educator, a Certified Hand Embroidery Artist, a Textile Artist and now an Author. I am the Founder and Secretary of Dooshalaa Foundation, where I helped and taught women.

my story

I was born in a religious Hindu conventional family of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. As I did my schooling from a Catholic convent school I respect all religions. From an early age I had an interest in reading books and comics. I love food, mythology, astrology, yoga, naturopathy, herbs and lastly my three beautiful kids.

As for art, I inherited Art and Design from my mother and developed it through my childhood by practising various traditional and ethnic crafts of Rajasthan. After graduation, I learned fine arts and designing. In Jodhpur, I interacted with sandstone, durrie, leather mojirie, wooden handicraft and textile manufacturers while working in fine arts for around 12 years. Travelling to nearby villages and various Artisans with my father was my favourite hobby. In between all this I did marketing for Tupperware as well.

After moving to Jaipur, I continuously worked as a freelancer while doing my Diploma in Jewellery Designing and CAD. Subsequently, I started working in Jewellery sector. As travelling has been my favourite hobby, I used to roam in small lanes of the Pink city to seek more knowledge about cutting and polishing of gemstone rocks, and about different Artists from various backgrounds. I am an Artisan Card holder of Jaipur Handicraft Association.

As seeing the struggle of craft artisans firsthand and having been facing the bigotry of society for over  4 decades I founded Dooshalaa Foundation. There I taught more than 50 ladies about Gotta Patti, Appliqué, Hand Block Printing, Up-cycled Cloth Jewelry, Tie and Dye etc. The accomplishment of it was completing orders of known brands like Fab India, Kilol and Fashion Designer Anita Dongre. Moreover, I started researching in Traditional crafts and arranged workshops for fashion students from Manipal University, Pearl Academy, etc. As an Artist I participated in exhibitions like Vastra, Vibrant Gujarat and Dastkar at Urban Haat representing my company ‘Bhakoshaa’.

After all these years of experience I started a new journey as an Author with my coffee table book, "The Pictorial Fable of The Celestial Musician: TUMBURU". As I started to enjoy turning colourful visuals into black text, I begin studying different mythologies. In doing so I achieved a milestone of painting a breathtaking 10 meters of canvas. Now, currently I am redefining the art of storytelling by creating flamboyant narrative art and penning down unprecedented scripts.
